1. The competition is open to musicians of all nationalities aged to 36.

2.
The jury will be composed by outstanding Italian and foreign musical personalities. The jury’s components cannot have parental or present didactic relationship with the competitors.

3.
Before starting the performance, the candidate will have to show his identity card and three typed copies of the excerpts of his own programme.

4.
Competitors are not obliged to perform by heart.

5.
The jury’s marks is unappealable.

6.
The jury might invite some candidate to repeat their performance if they are not able to express a classifying judgment.

7.
The jury might not assign the prizes, should the competitors’ artistic level not be sufficient, according to their unquestionable judgment.

8.
Competitors will be summoned by alphabetical lot, just before starting the performance. Late comers, if giving justified reasons, will perform last. The winners have to perform free at the prizes awarding concert. The absentee will not be awarded with prizes. The jury might ask other competitors to perform at this final concert.

9. ENROLMENT

Competitors are requested to apply using the attached form by registered letter with return receipt sent to the President of Unda Maris Musical Association M° Giulio Arena - via Spagna, 16 - 90146 Palermo - within May 15th 2007 (the postmark will bear witness).
Enclosures to the application:
A. photocopy of the identity card or passport;
B. non-negotiable cheque related to the application fee and registered to Associazione Musicale Unda Maris in M° Giulio Arena’s name (the fee is unredeemable); or receipt of bank transfer made out to

C. artistic curriculum (preferably in Italian);
D. competitor’s photo;
E. the application fee amounts to ? 100,00.

10. Travelling and lodging are at participants? expense.

11.
The staff of secretaries will communicate date and time of the performance by telephone, by letter or by e-mail.

12.
The Unda Maris Musical Association reserves the right to film and record every stage of the competition. Competitors accept to give the association free, every right of economical utilization of the recordings. No economic claim or claims of any other nature for TV or radio recordings can be made.

13.
Entrance in the competition involves the acceptance of the present regulations.

14.
In accordance with law n° 675 31/12/96 art. 10, comma 1, the competitor’s private documents and data will be used by the Unda Maris Musical Association for the competition management only. The competitor benefits the rights art. 13 refers to.

 

Preliminary test
1. A studio by choice.
2. A prelude and fugue from the well-tempered clavier by J.S. Bach.
3. A sonata chosen out of J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven.
Duration: about 25 (minimum) - about 35 minutes (maximum).

The Semifinal
One or more compositions written in 1800 and one or more compositions written in 1900.
Pieces of the preliminary test cannot be repeated.
Duration: about 45 minutes.

The Final
Free programme.
Pieces of the previous tests cannot be repeated.
Duration: about 50 minutes.
